That’s us–Ed and Kristen. We’ve been together since 2005 and married since 2008, happily we might add. We also have two dogs, Dru and Ripley, making us a happy little family of four.

We live in Mississippi. After getting married and having tried the state on for size for a few years, we decided we loved it just enough to stay for a while (or ever) and call it home.

We made it official and bought our first house, a 1956 brick ranch, in 2009 and are slowly updating it to our tastes. Being over 50 years old, our sweet house was in need of a bit of TLC. We jumped right in updating The Addition and found that even simple changes could make a huge difference. Along with lots of little fixes, like repairing the dishwasher, we’ve also exposed our hardwood floors and added a FLOR. Our biggest project to date is a complete bathroom overhaul full of vintage charm and classic finishings. It took a lot of work and many days with little sleep, but we couldn’t be prouder. She’s a beaut’!

We aren’t experts, and we definitely learn as we go, but we’re having fun and are already happier in our home than we were back in 2009. Projects might be large or small, successful or a disaster, but we share it all. For posterity’s sake and a little bit of humor.
